Marina Khan
MARINA KHAN is the cofounder and Director of Animal House Productions Inc (AHP) and a well sought after actress/director of the Pakistani television industry. She is especially remembered across the Indian sub-continent and by it’s diaspora for her memorable roles, such as “Sania” in Hasina Moin’s 1984 classic serial Tanhaiyan, directed by the great Schezad Khalil, and as “Dr. Zoya” in the follow up landmark success of Hasina Moin’s 1986 Dhoop Kinaray directed by Sahira Kazmi.
She has since, acted in and hosted numerous serials and shows, including the daily morning show Marina Mornings, on ARY. She is also well known for her directorial endeavors, not only in Pakistan but internationally as well. She is a co-founder and partner in the Karachi based Fat Cat Productions, which has spawned a plethora of format television shows, music videos, drama serials and corporate events there.
Marina has a Bachelor of Arts degree from PECHS College, Karachi and an Associate of Applied Arts Degree in Interior Design from The American College in London. Marina has been involved with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for several years now as their ambassador for the Wetlands Center in Karachi.
She was nominated to represent Pakistan as an emerging leader in her industry in the United States by the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship Program and is now an official Eisenhower Fellow.
Marina has maintained close connections with the Pakistan entertainment industry over more than 25 years. Marina and Jaleel Akhtar have created Animal House Productions Inc. in Toronto as an affiliate of Fat Cat Productions to bring South Asian entertainment to Canada. Marina, these days splits her year shuttling between Toronto and Karachi.
