Jaleel Akhtar

Jaleel Akhtar is the cofounder and Director of Animal House Productions Inc (AHP). He is also a well respected and a senior director/producer of television and corporate events in Pakistan.

To his directorial credit are the pioneering music videos that started the music television revolution in Pakistan. Junoon’s “Heer”, “Talaash” and “Saeen”, Aamir Zaki’s “Money” and Awaz’s “Oh Girl” to name a few. Having been the manager of the first megahit pop band Vital Signs he got into the entertainment circles and started to promote and organize musical concerts in the late 80’s. When private television came to Pakistan in the early 90’s, he co-founded Fat Cat Productions with Marina Khan in Karachi, which has spawned a plethora of format television shows, music videos, drama serials and corporate events there since then.

Jaleel has directed and produced for the television screen since 1989 and been involved in event management since 1988 and continues to do so today. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

Jaleel and Marina have maintained close connections with the Pakistan entertainment industry over more than 20 years. Animal House Productions Inc. was created in Toronto by them as an affiliate of Fat Cat Productions to bring South Asian entertainment to Canada. Jaleel, these days splits his year shuttling between Toronto and Karachi.
